It seems it is borderline to be knocked down Aug this yr or Aug 2010. It would appear that nobody is interested in running a business that may be demolished! But I already have 1 pub and could run it as a sideline to my main business. We have offered the brewery a proposal and should hear back shortly if they accept.

In the mean time I am looking for any input from the previous customer base as to what people may like to see there? Wireless internet and a couple of computers for day use seem popular on canal st, as does a wii Wednesday (games on Wii Sports against each other!) Just something different to bloody kareoke. Also the music, did everyone like the jukebox or do they prefer to have a dj? Food, should it just be snack food or is there much call for 'meals'?

Should the brewery accept our proposal it will all happen quite quickly, I will keep you updated through here.

Any ideas or people looking for part time work, feel free to add them to the wall or send to me in a message if you prefer.

After a meeting today all the deposit money is now secured!

I apologise for not replying to each message personally, but i have had a lot and have high hopes for the success of Lions once it re-opens!

I hope to offer something that is not really covered, somewhere comfortable to chill out when you might not feel like clubbing, i have looked in to the wireless and 2 computers for internet and they might not be there the first week, but will be top of my priority list once im in, along with a wii sports contest night with prizes! The jukebox will be back as many messages have told me they liked it. I hope to open ASAP and hope people will bear with me while i sort open hours food and staff etc. My current target date is Sat March 8th after climax!

Sorry to bore you all but................

It is now 100% re-opening. I have the keys and the agreement is signed!
Now it is down to the builders........there is water damage to part of the ceiling after a leak from the boiler that has to be repaired they are starting on Monday. Anyone that has dealt with builders knows full well they dont always finish when they say they do. They have said done by Thursday, which obviously cuts my opening day quite fine!

This gives me Thursday to thouroughly clean, get product in, organise the cellar, learn the till, get a few bar staff and some guys on the door lol
All while running my other pub! Easy, i work better with a bit of pressure!

There is not an event created as yet but as soon as Wed comes I should know if the builders are done or not.

I have called climax and am awaiting a response to sell tickets for them. If i can open there will be drink specials also on Vodka, VK, smirnoff ice and Draught Lager. I also have a friend with a 16 seat taxi who will do discounted runs up to Climax for you! 50p each was a discussed amount! I will if people think it is worth my while be open after climax for an after party / chill out gathering, that there will be no door charge for. I may also have access to my friend using his taxi for you also to come back. (taxi part still in discussion for now for later on) But maybe anyone that comes back with a climax wristband will get 2 for 1 etc, generous I know lol thank me on the night!
